A study on Mechanical Behavior of Aluminium LM6 Based Metal Matrix Composites Reinforced with Sodium Feldspar

Aluminium alloys are widely used in aerospace and automobile industries due to their low density and good mechanical properties, better corrosion resistance and wear, low thermal coefficient of expansion as compared to conventional metals and alloys. The excellent mechanical properties of these materials and relatively low production cost make them a very attractive candidate for a variety of application both from scientific and technological view point. The aim involved is that the Aluminium LM6/ Sodium Feldspar composite was successfully prepared by stir casting rout and evaluated for different properties from the analysis. The Aluminium LM6 alloy matrix composites have been successfully developed with fairly uniform dispersion of Sodium Feldspar. The hardness of Sodium Feldspar/Aluminium LM6composite increases as the addition of Sodium Feldspar, weight percentage is increased.
