Publication Procedure
The International Journal of Fundamental Research and Development follows a clear and structured procedure from the receipt of a manuscript to its final online publication. The process is designed to ensure fairness, quality, and transparency at every stage.
Step 1: Submission Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system or as instructed on the journal website. A complete submission includes the manuscript file, a cover letter, and any required declarations regarding originality, authorship, and ethics.
Step 2: Initial Editorial Screening The editorial office examines the manuscript to confirm that it falls within the aims and scope of the journal, is complete, and meets basic standards of presentation and originality. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors without external review.
Step 3: Peer Review Suitable manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers under a double-blind system. Reviewers evaluate the work for originality, methodological soundness, clarity, and significance. The journal aims to complete the first round of review within four to six weeks.
Step 4: Editorial Decision Based on the reviewers’ reports, the Editor-in-Chief or a designated handling editor makes one of the following decisions: accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject. Authors receive a decision letter together with the anonymised reviewers’ comments.
Step 5: Revision (if required) When revisions are requested, authors are expected to address each comment carefully and submit a revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response. The revised version may be re-evaluated by the original reviewers or by the handling editor.
Step 6: Acceptance Once a manuscript is accepted, the corresponding author is informed. At this stage, any applicable Article Processing Charge is communicated, and the author is requested to complete the necessary formalities.
Step 7: Copyediting and Proofs The accepted manuscript undergoes copyediting for clarity, consistency, and formatting. Authors receive proofs for final checking and are asked to return any corrections within the stipulated time.
Step 8: Online Publication After final corrections are incorporated, the article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and published online in the current issue of the journal. The article becomes freely accessible under the journal’s open-access policy.
Throughout the process, the journal maintains confidentiality and adheres to recognised ethical standards. Authors are kept informed of the status of their manuscript at each major stage.
