Review Process

The International Journal of Fundamental Research and Development follows a transparent and rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published research.

Initial Editorial Screening

Every manuscript submitted to the journal is first examined by the editorial office. This preliminary check assesses whether the paper falls within the aims and scope of the journal, is complete in presentation, and meets basic standards of academic writing and originality. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors without external review.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are specialists in the relevant subject area. The identities of both the authors and the reviewers remain concealed from each other throughout the process. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript on the basis of originality, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, significance of findings, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Editorial Decision

After receiving the reviewers’ reports, the Editor-in-Chief or a designated handling editor carefully considers the comments and recommendations. The possible decisions are:

• Accept
• Minor revisions
• Major revisions
• Reject

Authors receive a reasoned decision letter together with the anonymised reviewers’ comments. When revisions are requested, authors are expected to respond to each point raised by the reviewers and to submit a revised version within the stipulated time.

Revised Manuscripts

Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further assessment or may be evaluated by the handling editor, depending on the nature and extent of the changes. The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.

Timeline

The journal aims to complete the first round of peer review within four to six weeks of submission. Authors are informed of any significant delay. The overall time from submission to final decision depends on the quality of the manuscript and the responsiveness of authors and reviewers.

Confidentiality and Integrity

All parties involved in the review process are expected to maintain strict confidentiality. The journal adheres to the core practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and takes appropriate action in cases of suspected misconduct, bias, or breach of ethical standards.

The review process is designed to be fair, constructive, and consistent, ensuring that only research of appropriate scholarly quality is published in the International Journal of Fundamental Research and Development.
